I’m having the same problems on my PC now. In this blog post, I’ll share with you a few quick and easy workarounds to solve these 2-sided printing problems and have your printer working properly on Windows 11 or Windows 10.

Accessing Printer Settings:

First things first: we will enter the Windows settings. Hold the Windows button and press I to open its settings. And from the left-hand menu, click Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners. This sends you to the printers and scanners menu, where you control all things printer-related. Fixing Many Driver Issues With the Help of DriverPro:

Resolving Multiple Driver Issues:

In my case, my printer is a Brother MFC-L2820DW. When I looked in the printer’s section of the control panel, I noticed that different drivers were installed than what had been there before (1 for the printer and another, which was a fax driver). This can be misleading for the system and the user as to which driver is, in fact , doing the work.

Here’s how to fix it:

• Find the driver that is having trouble printing with the Document in the queue. For me, one driver had 42 documents waiting to be written. Click it and choose Open print queue.
• In your print queue window, you will see three teeny tiny dots at the top right. Click them, then click Cancel all to empty the queue.
• Return to the Printers & scanners menu once again and pick the second driver in the list to see if it works. Ensure the printer is powered on and idle, and then perform a test print.
• If the test print comes out fine (it tells you in the bottom-right corner), make the driver the default by clicking Set as default in the printer’s settings.
• Go back to the Printers & scanners menu, click on the offending driver (the one with the queue cleared), and hit Remove to avoid any confusion.

You are now down to only one driver that actually works with your Brother printer.

Solving Unwanted Stop 2-Sided Printing by Default in Outlook:

The other is that the printer will default to printing on both sides of the paper, regardless of what you’re attempting to print. To fix this:

• In the Printers & scanners menu, click your printer (e.g., Brother MFC or HP DeskJet, or HP LaserJet).
• Select Printing preferences. For my Brother printer, the preferences had Two-sided booklet already checked.
• Set this to None and then click Apply and OK. This will mean the printer will print single-sided by default.
• To verify, go back to the printing preferences. Two-sided should no longer be defaulted to.

If you need to duplex this document, you can manually turn it on. In the printed preview menu, click More settings, scroll down, and select Print on both sides. That gives you room to maneuver while still leaving the defaults in place.

And that’s it! Now your printer should display properly in Windows 11, and you should no longer have issues with double-sided printing. You won’t need to do that, though, if you use the print drivers and just set your printer properties before doing your printing.
